Nope....it's not election day! Though I will be glad when the election is over so that we can move on from the negativity in the news and on TV. Don't forget to vote! Ballots need to be dropped off by 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
One of my favorite days of the year is Veteran's Day! I love that we spend time recognizing and remembering the men and women who have fought to give us the freedoms we enjoy...including our right to vote on election day! My dad served in the army in Vietnam and my Uncle was a Green Beret. I have great respect for those who have served or are currently serving our country, as well as their families who also sacrifice so much for all of us everyday. The Middle School will be attending the 1:30-2:30 assembly on Friday. Please join us if you can, it is a wonderful day!
On to the news for the week:
Sixth Grade Outdoor Ed reminders:
- The students needs to be dropped off at normal time on Tuesday. They will bring their backpack, bag, sleeping bag and pillow into the main hallway, where they will leave their stuff before heading to homeroom. They will leave for camp between 9 and 9:30.
-Please be sure to pack warm layers. The weather looks like it will be nice, but it is the mountains so the mornings and evenings will be cool/cold. They spend an entire day hiking in Rocky Mountain National park, please make sure they are prepared for the elements.
-Dress code for the week is dress of choice, including Tuesday.
- The students need a SACK LUNCH for Tuesday. They will be eating when they get up to camp. All other meals are included with the camp.
- We are planning on the students being back on Friday around 2:30. I will be sending out updates through email that afternoon about their estimated time of arrival. You are welcome to come and pick your student up early, or you can come through carpool. If you come through carpool on Friday, please use zone A as it will be much easier to get gear to cars in zone A. Please DO NOT PARK, or get out of your vehicle in carpool. We will have people to help the students get their stuff to their cars.
8th Grade Career Fair:
The 8th graders will be attending the Douglas County Educational Foundation Career Fair on Wednesday, November 9th. They will leave at 12:45 and be back by 3:15. There is no charge for the trip, but students must be registered. Here is the link to register:
